Mercedes Company renewed successful S-Class sedan

Now we have Mercedes S Class hybrid. Double horizontal lines on radiator enclosure, diode daylight headlights having a new style of E Mercedes Benz. “Stuttgart surgeons” changed headlights, front bumper and radiator enclosure. Also we can see a car with screwed-up headlights and diode make-up in the lowest contour of headlights.

Besides while rear lights were losing horizontal strips they received same diodes. But exterior changing is not the most important part in restyling of Mercedes S-Class sedan. The main thing is hybrid version. The first one with lithium-ion batteries in this class. Power unit of S400 Hybrid consists of V6 3.5-litre 279 hp engine and 20 kW electrical engine. This automobile consumes in mixed cycle 7.9 litres of fuel.

But diesel version S 350 CDI which took place instead S 320 CDI modification is more economical (7.6 litres per 100km). But in spite of new designation this engine stayed as it has been (3-litre turbodiesel with 235hp and 540Nm). Diesel versin S 450 CDI (previous S 420 CDI) has the same history (4-litre V8 with 320hp and 730Nm). Gasoline versions of S-Class stayed with same marking and engines. They are S 350 (272hp), S 450 (340hp), S 500 (388hp) и S 600 (517hp). All engines including hybrid unit aggregates with the same 7-speed automatic gearbox 7G-Tronic. German dealers opened their accepting to order renewed Mercedes S-Class.

Prices increased insignificantly. For exapmle the most available S 350 CDI will cost 73 000 euro. The most powerful modification S 600 will set you back 156 000 euro. That ain’t hay! Read about the most economical S-Class.
