Mercedes-Benz S-Class including AMG versions can produce cars made on full hybrid base. This decision was made due to European requirements relating redusing of carbon dioxide blowout and more strict corporative standards. Furthermore Mercedes Company plans to competite with Lexus which is being considered as a hybrid cars selling leader.
However this idea wasn’t accepted by all people. For example American dealers consider that hybrid cars won’t have a big popularity on a car market. Besides American dealers said that customers wouldn’t be guided by efficiency of hybrid S-Class. Currently Mercedes-Benz offers only one version of hybrid S-Class. It is Mercedes-Benz S400 Hybrid with V6 3.5-liter engine and 299hp of power.
