Mercedes-Benz Museum

Nine-floor Mercedes museum is a place of interest of Germany. Fans of popular german make of car can learn a history of beginnings of favourite automobile in new nine-floor museum with area around of 53 000sq m. First exhibits welcome their visitors in underground garage. Futuristic panoramic elevator elevates tourists on ninth floor where exposition begins. Moving from top downwards visitors see round automobiles from retro till modern bolides. Museum gives audio guides.

In 2006 year DaimlerChrysler celebrated 120th anniversary of first patented car of Karl Benz. Because of this case factorial museum moved in a new spacious building, built not far from old. In double spiral of museum there are 1500 exhibits, 160 cars, 80 automobiles, 40 vehicles and 40 sport cars. And every car has it’s own history. After all Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler suggested here in 1886 to get off a horse which people took 5 000 years ago. “They have never met…” It’s the umpteenth time museum guides have been amazed at fate thinking about “fathers-founders” Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler. Karl created in Mannheim and Gottlieb in Bad Kanshtadt. They were separated by some points on a map…but they have never met even in passing! But among all possible combinations just two companies founded by Benz and Daimler merged in one «Daimler-Benz» in 1926!

First wheel transport facility built by “fathers” open an exposition. On 29th of January in 1886 Karl Benz recieved patent on his three-wheeled with bicyle wheels without springs (of vehicle). He drove on it for the first time on 3rd of July and remembered with reluctance about it because he had to bring local sausage maker’s goods due to his horse got frightened because of engine claps and overurned carriage with sausages. It is better to give a priority to Gottlieb Daimler in invented motorcycle (in 1885 year he took out from garage his Reitwagen like a wonder with wooden wheels). Daimler didn’t aim to build automobile. Daimler’s credo is motorization in the air, on a ground and on a water. this will appear in three-ray emblem. Thus next object became a boat called “Maria” in honor of sister-in-law who helped Dainler’s wife to grow up five children. In advertisment aims Daimler gave this firts diesel boat to Bismark himself but in 1922 Bismark’s descendant took it back to «Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft».

First cars were assembled in this museum , the reconstruction after World War II was being done here and modern cars are assembled here. Museum is not only Company’s visiting card but it was appealed to become a personification of constancy and stability, source of pride those people who worked, is working and will work in honor of brand. History of Company proves that priority of Mercedes-Benz are innovations. Why it is not a voyage to country of miracles? Attending this museum we can compare with attending a Disneyland or Holywood’s shooting areas. Now legendary brand became closer and shares secrets with everyone who want to feel himself as a part of mysterious automobile world.
