All present German offroaders were introduced one by one. Audi Q7 was introduced in 2005, Mercedes-Benz GL and BMW X5 were presented in 2006. Approximately all these models will be introduced in the same sequence. For example, Mercedes-Benz GL has already been covering a distance of testing roads. According to photos being made in a snowed Germany, a new GL will receive a new bumpers, radiator guard and elegant headlights.
According to rumors a new GL will be wider, but the present length (5099mm) won’t be changed. Inside space also will be increased due to interior rearrangement. The weight of GL will be reduced in 100kg (till 2350kg) due to optimization of body construction. Mercedes-Benz GL of new generation will have multi-mode suspension and full modern complex of active and passive safety.
Engine line will consist of present power units. It seems that we can talk about V6 3.5-liter (306hp), V6 3.5-liter turbodiesel and V8 with two turbo compressors which will be available in two variants of power (360hp and 408hp). Rumors are pleasant, but we will see what will be in practice in the end of 2011 in Frankfurt.

The two ugliest Model G I’ve ever seen. Can’t unrndstaed, how people can take a classic car and make that crap of it. What a waste of money. It’s a shame!
