
Mercedes-Benz elaborated two new LAPV concepts at once. They were built on a base of Mercedes G-Class. These car are interesting due to theirs technichal characteristics. This is a first combination of Mercedes G-Class off-road vehicle and Unimog all-terrain vehicle.
Spheres of using Mercedes LAPV (Light Armoured Patrol Vehicle) do not cross with live sphere of Mercedes G-Class by no means. These armored vehicles are used for german army. Mercedes LAPV 6.X and Mercedes LAPV 7.X became next step in army armoured cars evolution.
Mercedes LAPV 6.X Concept
LAPV 6.X Concept was built on a chassis of army G-Class, but it has more individual nuances in its running gear. Height-adjusting shock absorbers are installed there. Also they are used on rally off-road vehicles. This allows to change road clearance. G-Class axles have a side hubs with additional reducers.
Beadlock wheel disks with outside bolts prevent tire sliding even in case of extreme pressure loss. Tire pressure can be regulated from a saloon using of a special system. For example, it is possible to lower tire pressure while driving on a sand.


Concept was built on Mercedes-Benz G-Class of 461st seria. LAPV 6.X has navigation system with protective shield. Additional function is connection with headquarters staff.


Stronger frame with height-adjusting shock absorbers. Black box fixes all data about location, videosignals and staff conversations.


Additional reducers provide LAPV 6.X with a huge road clearance and high reliability. Also there are recharging station, extra wheel and special electronic block for conversation encryption.
Mercedes LAPV 7.X Concept
LAPV 7.X Concept is a very interesting object for lover who like to drive in unknown places. Combination of G-Class engine, gearbox, body and Unimog chassis could be met in a private collections. For Mercedes-Benz this is absolutaly new car.
