Exposition of sport AMG wing of Mercedes Company on Frankfurt Motorshow could have consisted of only one supercar Mercedes SLS AMG. It could have been enough for for audience to be pleased. But skilled men from Mercedes Company took with them another one miraculous idea of car engineering. It could be Mercedes E63 AMG wagon.
Goodbye all sack of potatoes and bucket with fruits which couldn’t be fitted into luggage trunk. There is a 525 hp devil under the hood. It is V8 6.2-litre engine from E 63 AMG with 630Nm of torque. Also 7-speed automatic gearbox AMG Speed shift MCT, widened front wheel track, new front spring-actuated suspension with McPherson struts and AMG Ride Control shock absorber with electronic control are all make a sagnificant modernization.
But of course estate with 1945kg of weight is heavilier than sedan (1765kg). This one among the most important reasons that E 63 AMG accelerates to 100km/h slower than analogue sedan. The highest speed is about 250 and lmited by electronics. But it is not all! This estate throws out 299g of CO2 and consumes in mixed cycle 12.8 litres per 100 kg. Seems, the second sentence isn’t in common with reality, but it is true fact! E 63 AMG Estate will cost about 110 000 euro. So little more expensive than E 63 AMG (in 5 000 euro). Sales will start in 2010.
