First officially tuned Mercedes CLS by Carlsson

We can remember that one special tuning center called Lorinser showed CLS in its own interpretation. Besides a serial version of this car was introduced after this. However tuners’ aspiration didn’t receive a finish results alas! But some jacks of all trades from Carlsson center without any boasting can offer tuning packages for two modifications of a new CLS.


They started with the main part. Engines. Two V6s: 3.0-liter turbo diesel (265hp and 620nm) and 3.5-liter DFI engine (306hp and 370nm) received changed soft for electronic control packages. As a result a total power of gasoline engine was increased in 27hp and 40Nm.

Diesel one from now will have additional 55hp and 160Nm. Besides suspension was improved. A special firm unit called C-Tronic was installed. This unit lowers clearance in 30mm and regulates stiffness and motion depending on road situation.

Exterior also was changed. From now a new CLS will have a special front bumper with Carlsson logo located on a radiator guard instead of Mercedes-Benz emblem, air intakes decorated with diode lights. A new body-kit includes unique sills, air intakes of front fenders, rear bumper with integrated diffuser and exhaust pipes and special trunk lid with edge which will perform a spoiler function.

Complete set of 19′ and 20′ light-alloy wheel disks which can be painted in three colors. It will cost about ?2500. Re-flash of electronic control package will cost about 1800 Euro. Besides, both of improved engines still correspond to toxic norms (Euro-5). It is a pity, but there is no photos of interior. But Carlsson center talked about sport steering wheel decorated with wash leather, pedal pads made of aluminum, velour carpets (even in luggage space).
