Mercedes-Benz sedan 190 E rised from the dead

It didn’t come out as scary monster but modern turbodiesel engine from last generation of C-Class in C 250 CDI BlueEfficiency version turned out under the hood of a car. 2.1-litre engine makes 204hp of power and 500Mn of torque. With this “heart” lighter (minus 385 kg) 190 E accelerates to 100 km/hr in 6.2 sec(faster than reminded C-Class in 1.3 sec). Engeneers from Mercedes Company are pleased with the work done and think where more they can install economical diesels.

Average fuel consuming in mixed cycle is (4.9 per 100 km) in 2.4 liters less than car from year of 1988 had. Furthermore emission of CO2 was reduced in 30%. Now more to talk! Engine from C 250 CDI BlueEfficiency with consecutive turbo charging and common rail system of four generation satisfy Euro-5 requirements, but emission of CO2 is only about 136g/km. Here is the Mercedes Company’s aim to show how deep technologies of motor industry came after 20 years.

After all Mercedes 190 E was supertechnological automobile 20 years ago. But now the progress is so fast that it is difficult not to fall behind. And maybe after 20 years people find old C-Class and install in it such engine we have never thought about yet.
