First modification has been proclaimed. A new 544hp engine with two turbines for Mercedes Benz S Class AMG has been shown. And now it is time to see another premieres. So, Mercedes-Benz company will start production of next two engines.
The first is V6 engine with 3.5 liters, upgraded combustion chamber and system of direct injection of third generation. This engine will have 306hp of power and 370Nm of torque. Its predecessor had 272hp of power and 350Nm of torque. Furthermore a new 3.5-liter V6 engine has lower level of vibration and it is lighter, calmer and more compact than a present power unit.
The second is V8 engine with 4.7 liters and direct fuel injection system with turbosuperchargers. This power unit is able to give 435hp of power and 700Nm of torque. Besides this novelty is more economical in 22%!
It seems that a present Mercedes Benz S Class and restyled Mercedes Benz CL Class Coupe (which might receive a name S Class Coupe) will receive these new power units. Thus this coupe CL 350 (S 350 Coupe) will have V6 engine for the first time.
